  1. God bless you for the heart and information that you provide on your site. My husband and I are looking to start your 14 day detox and had a question regarding the juicing. Some of the juices have cucumber which upsets my digestive system. Is there a good alternative that you would suggest?

Also I am assuming that there is a reason you soak the nuts and seeds. Is this for ease of digestion?

Thanks so much for any help you can provide.
    Billi

    • Hi Billi-Jo. You can try zucchini perhaps…it juices well. You could also add another green apple or additional carrots to replace the amount of juice from the cucumber. And YES- the soaking is to aid digestion and increase nutritional value!

  2. Good Morning, I can’t explain to you how thankful I am that you created this website, I was diagnosed with Non- Hodgkin Lymphoma overwhelmed with the “Great News” I was told by my oncologist that this was a curative disease. A Mother of 3 children and a hubby due to my continuous dead ends of researching the disease that no ones know where it comes from but knows how to cure it, I decided to go forth with the chemo treatments. After the delivery of my now fourth child <<(A blessing from God), I completed a CT scan was possible indicated that the disease came back, this time with assistance from my nursing colleagues I looked hard for alternative treatments, and I was given your website to follow and I tell you it has been a GREAT help. But what I would like to know throughout your research have you received or done any other detoxing methods such as foot bathes, lymphatic massage, coffee enemas?

    • Hi LeQuasia! Sorry it’s been a long while since you commented. I had a baby the week you originally commented and it got lost at the bottom of the pile! YES- I did foot baths, lymphatic massage, and coffee enemas. The most important detoxing methods I would start with would be hydrocolon therapy (colonics) and coffee enemas. Also liver flushes, too.

  3. First time on your blog and I absolutely love it! This article in particular is great! I really want to do this detox plan you have outlined here but the only thing that keep stopping me is the work involved! It’s hard to fit it into a busy schedule. If anything is going to get my butt moving though, it’s how simple it’s all laid out here. Great post!

    • Hey Stacey! Do what you can with the detox. Some people will comment how they couldn’t stand the veggie smoothies, or it was too hard to keep up with the amount of salads. I say to do what you can and forgive yourself if you can’t do EVERYTHING. (ALthough it IS a gentle detox and you want to try to do most of it to reach the goal of “detoxing!”)

  4. Dear Cortney, I found your website thru Chrisbeatcancer.com Thank you sharing your story and spreading the word about alternative therapies. It takes bravery to go against the norm. I’m trying to get my brother to go alternative. He’s got stage IV lung cancer and has been on chemo a year without success.
Your 14 Day Detox is awesome. I haven’t tried it yet. but I plan on using your smoothie recipes to add to my diet. I love the inspiring messages and advice – you put a lot of time into it. I don’t know how you do it, being a working Mom!

Best wishes to you and your family.

    • Hi Karen!

Thanks for your message. 🙂 That is tough to hear about your brother. A year of chemo has had to have been really really hard. Yes, Chris and I are both great resources. We have been through the holistic protocols both physically and emotionally. I am glad the detox and such has helped. There are definitely tough days with teaching fulltime, my daughter, and the desire to want to blog more, but it all seems to work out. 🙂 Keep in touch for sure!

  5. I have just been diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer and plan on having mastectomies, because the right grew so fast. I refuse to have Chemo and radiation. So far we are only talking hormanes and I want to incorporate your diet with the hormone therapy and see how it goes. The only problem is that I am 64 and this will be my third time to go though menapause, booo. Great blog I love it and your recipes . Thanks for helping all of us .
    Your baby is darling.

    Toni

    • Toni, I know you will do great. Please incorporate all aspects into your healing- raw vegan organic nutrition, positive affirmation and prayer, and continuing to read about successes from other people who have healed naturally, along with educating yourself on why natural approaches work. One of my goals is to compile stories of holistic survivors so Green Drink Diaries can be a one stop shop for that, but ONE STEP AT A TIME on that. 🙂 Are you seeing a naturopath who can help you with menopause symptoms? Prayers are going out for you!
