14 Day Summer Cleanse: Day 8

 DAY 8 

1. Daily Affirmation:
 
 “I have set a goal and will see it through!”

 Are you noticing I’m talking about motivation again? Why is it that so many of us struggle with the follow-through that is required with setting a goal? I am familiar with the internal argument of wanting to do something and then choosing not to do it. Remember my yoga goal? I’ve done yoga twice in the last 7 days. Not exactly what I envisioned when I was pumped up in talking about it. DOING is a different story. We are all trained to seek out immediate gratification. It feels good. And it’s easy! But what feels better- something simply given to you, OR the process of acquiring a skill through total mind renewal? Possibly it is the mind renewal that occurs because of the effort? Whatever it is- I will be using this affirmation often today. Can you hear me already? “I have set my yoga goal and will see it through.” Yoga Day 3 awaits!

2. Today’s Menu 

Breakfast-cup of organic green tea, Tropi-Fab Smoothie (1 orange, 1 cup pineapple, 1 banana, handful of spinach, 1 Tbsp coconut oil, 2 ice cubes, water as needed) 

Snack- continue to drink breakfast smoothie, 1 pear or handful of soaked nuts if hungry 

Lunch- BIG (1 large handful baby greens, 1/4 red onion sliced, 1/2 avocado sliced, 1/2 soaked sunflower seeds, sunflower sprouts, 1 crown chopped broccoli, 6 strawberries sliced into quarters, 1 c lentils, season with salt/pepper) (Try making your own Balsamic Vinaigrette- 6 cloves garlic, 1 cup olive oil, ½ cup balsamic vinegar- blend!) 

Snack- sliced apple with 1 Tbsp almond butter, green veggie juice (1 whole beet, 5 stalks celery. Use juicer. 

Dinner- Italiana Smoothie (3-4 leaves of chard, 2 celery stalks, 1/2 avocado, 3 Roma tomatoes, 2-4 cloves garlic, ¼ bunch basil, 2 cups water) 

Dessert- naturally uncaffeinated herbal tea of your choice, green juice if hungry.

  1. 3rd day of yoga is complete. Stretch felt good after breaking out my P90X Back and Legs on Wednesday. A run on Tuesday. It feels good to be back into a workout routine!

  2. I will … I should … I would … do not let the slump gain momentum.
    I think it is important to stay motivated with positive thoughts and at the same time the mind has to be “disciplined” to stay focused and be GRATEFUL … it is all MIND over MATTER

    I will start to exercise more … I need too and I have the ability to do that … one week on 100% raw and 3 hours of bodypump and TRX gave me a weight release of 400g ( suffer from Hashimotos autoimmune ) … the diet is in place but the body movement need improvement, I will get an hour of activities in everyday, either weights, walks or water … have to attend a MEGA wedding in Aug … that is my motivation ; )

    I make a big batch and freeze in smaller units of:
    1c lemon- 1c miso – 2 tbl ginger- 6 garlic – 1c water dressing
