THE SUPPLEMENTS –
Kind of like The Expendables, but
actually worth your time and money!

Dr. Williams Daily Advantage

One of the most common questions I am asked is what daily vitamin I recommend. Many of my friends who ask me this are taking a store bought multi-vitamin such as Centrum or even Flintstone Vitamins.  They complain of being tired half way through the day, having allergy problems, and getting sick often. With absolutely no judgment being passed whatsoever (hey, I remember how yummy Flintstones tasted!) I would like to encourage anyone reading this to look into Dr. Williams Daily Advantage.  These vitamins come in a pack of eight caplets.  They are packed with the highest quality, food-based nutrients.  Food based vitamins are just that – vitamins that are derived from food.  They are recommended because their nutrients are more efficiently digested and assimilated into the body, making them very effective and ensuring that nothing goes to waste.

Dr. Williams traveled all over the world to find the best sources for his product.  I have researched thoroughly and have not been able to find any criticism about his vitamins.  I have also not been able to find a reasonable alternative for the price he offers.

If you are interested in seeing the full list of vitamins/minerals/antioxidants/ phytochemicals that are in Daily Advantage click HERE and scroll down. You can also purchase them from this site.  I order the 6 month supply to save money in the long run.  If you were to order all of these vitamins separately you would be spending a fortune!  But please note – don’t expect to see results while still eating a poor diet.  Start adding more raw foods back into your diet and try to drink a green smoothie everyday.  I’ll discuss more in a future post about the simple changes you can make in your diet that can go a long way for your health.

Vitamin C and Green Tea Extract:

Another supplement I took during my treatment was called “Hearts Plus” along with Green Tea Extract.  “Hearts Plus” includes larger doses of Vitamin C.  In conjunction with the Green Tea Extract, the spreading of cancer cells to other parts of the body (metastasis) can be stopped.  If you want to know more about the research of Dr. Matthias Rath and Dr. Linus Pauling click HERE.  I purchased my Hearts Plus  (Vitamin C/ Lysine/Proline) and Green Tea Extract from Our Health Co-Op for a very reasonable price.  As an added bonus it is actually very good for your heart as well.

Barley Power:

Barley Power’s healing properties stand on the theory that cancer cells cannot live in an alkaline environment.  Alkalinity or acidity is determined by testing your body’s pH level.  What you eat and drink are the major players in determining your body’s alkalinity.  More on that later, but if you’re interested in learning more about the healing power of barley click HERE. This company – Green Supreme – produces organic, dehydrated barley tablets. I took 20-25 tablets of Barley Power a day when I was treating my cancer.

As you know already, I used a protocol composed by cancer researcher, Bill Henderson to heal my cancer.  He had six items in his protocol.  This post wraps up the final three of the six protocols:

  1. Beta 1, 3-D Glucan
  2. CCFO “Budwig Diet”
  3. Hearts Plus/ Green Tea Extract (see below)
  4. Barley Power (see below)
  5. Organic Raw Vegan Diet
  6. Dr. David William’s Daily Advantage

Before you begin taking any of these supplements please read the information very carefully.  I highly recommend purchasing Bill Henderson’s book Cancer-Free: Your Guide to Non-Toxic Healing if you are considering pursuing a holistic regimen in healing your own cancer.

* In the near future, I will be expanding this post with a few additional details that time did not permit me to add today.  So next time you’re around, feel free to check back here for updates! :)

On the Health Co-op website, there is a Heart Plus: Vitamin C, L-Lysine & L-Proline; 180 Tablets and then also a Heart Plus Veg Caps – 180 Vegetarian Capsules. Which one were you referring to? Thanks, love you blog!!

Definitely use a cleanse like my 14 Day Cleanse to detox gently. There are other cleanses out there that would be more drastic. Be cautious with those, but look around and do your research. These supplements could be taken along with a cleansing program or your everyday health conscious diet, but I don’t imagine they would have a cleansing effect. (:

    Hey Liz,

Glad to hear you are being proactive with your nutrition while going through chemo. So important!!
I currently take 1 packet of Dr. William’s Daily Advantage, eat Cottage Cheese/ Flaxseed Oil 5 times a week, drink a 64 oz veggie smoothie, and eat either a large salad or a dinner of organic veggies, whole grains, and wild/ roaming meats. I also drink green tea 1-2 times a day most days. See my How I Beat Cancer page for all the details and links.

So what about the barley power and beta 1, 3d glucan? You stopped them once you were cancer free or Does the daily advantage have them in?

    Hi Liz,

I stopped Beta Glucan 14 months after my remission. It was a totally personal decision. If you can afford to stay on it, I would as long as you feel it is needed.

Barley Power I went off shortly after remission. The purpose of barley power is to alkalize the body. I was still eating mostly raw (and still do) and also drink alkaline water, so I didn’t think the Barley Power still necessary after remission.
